At BookFlightDirect we aim to make the refund process clear, fair, and as efficient as possible. This Refund Policy explains when refunds may be available for bookings made or discovered through our platform, how to submit a refund request, typical processing timelines, potential deductions, and what to expect when a ticket is issued by a third-party provider (an airline or partner). Please read this policy carefully — final refund eligibility and timelines are generally determined by the ticket-issuing provider.
BookFlightDirect is primarily a fare discovery and booking guidance service. In many cases bookings are completed on an airline’s or partner’s website, and the issuing provider controls ticketing, fare rules, cancellations, and refunds. When we assist with bookings, we act as an intermediary: we provide information, forward refund or change requests to the issuer, and keep you informed of status updates. We do not directly control provider decisions, nor can we guarantee timelines set by airlines, payment processors, or banks.
Refunds may be granted under a number of circumstances, including but not limited to:
Refunds are commonly not available for:
To start a refund request, gather your booking details and supporting documentation. The steps below help us process your case quickly:
Processing times vary by issuing provider and payment method. Typical timeframes are:
BookFlightDirect will notify you by email when the provider responds. Please note that banks and card issuers control final posting times; we cannot influence those external timelines.
Refunds may be reduced by airline cancellation fees, non-refundable taxes, third-party charges, or currency conversion adjustments. If the issuer applies deductions, we will share the provider’s refund breakdown with you. Should BookFlightDirect need to charge an administrative handling fee (only when expressly disclosed), that fee will be communicated before processing.
Providers sometimes offer alternatives to cash refunds, such as travel credits, vouchers, or rebooking options. If a provider issues a voucher, BookFlightDirect will provide details about its validity, redemption process, and terms. Accepting a voucher may affect your ability to pursue a cash refund later—read the provider terms carefully before accepting alternatives.
If a refund is denied or delayed, contact refunds@bookflightdirect.com so we can escalate the matter with the issuer. If escalation does not achieve a resolution, you may consider filing a dispute (chargeback) with your card issuer. Chargeback procedures have strict deadlines and evidence requirements; we recommend exhausting provider and BookFlightDirect escalation channels before initiating a chargeback.
Refunds are typically issued in the currency used for the original purchase. Currency conversions and bank fees may affect the final amount you receive. If your bank applies separate charges, those are outside BookFlightDirect’s control.
In events such as airline insolvency, major strikes, or government-issued travel restrictions, remedies, timelines, and available options may vary significantly. BookFlightDirect will provide guidance and liaise with providers and authorities where possible, but the nature and timing of outcomes in such scenarios can be unpredictable.
